What is the cost of dental fillings?
We are lucky that we live in an era where we have a large variety of materials available for use in the restoration of damaged teeth. Prices vary, but composites fillings (white fillings) can cost up to two times the price of silver fillings. White fillings are much more technique sensitive and require greater time and skill to ensure they are placed well. White and diver fillings are examples of direct fillings, i.e. that are performed in the mouth at the time of tooth preparation. Direct restorations range in price from $200-$600.
Indirect restorations usually involve an impression or scan of some sort and the restorations are made outside of the mouth and then cemented. Materials used in these types of restorations are, in general, stronger and more aesthetic. They are also significantly more expensive. Indirect restorations range from $1200-$3000 per restoration.
